OUR STORY
After receiving strong validation from leading local OEMs and industry partners, the shapeable supercapacitor project gave the founders the confidence to move forward with the development and industrialization journey.
In collaboration with the laboratories of the Universities of Modena and Parma, the team focused on researching advanced materials for next-generation supercapacitors, patenting their first technology between 2020 and 2021.
In September 2020, Novac was officially incorporated as an innovative startup. Backed by the Motor Valley Accelerator and investors such as Eureka! Venture SGR, the company grew its team and, beginning 2024, opened its own independent R&D lab in Modena.
Today, Novac designs and manufactures customized energy storage systems, combining supercapacitor and battery materials to meet the specific needs of each customer, leveraging the extensive know-how developed over the years.
2018
The Novac project is launched as part of the T.A.A.C. program at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia
2020
From project to company: Novac Srl is founded, and the first two patents for supercapacitor production processes are filed
2021
Novac is selected for the Motor Valley Accelerator program and files its third and fourth patents
2023
Development of the first prototype in collaboration with Dallara and filing of the fifth patent
2024
Opening of the operational headquarters, complete with chemical laboratory and facilities ready for production lines
2025
Installation, start-up, and commissioning of the pilot and pre-pilot production lines for Novac proprietary supercapacitors
